Praying for Phillip

While enjoying a 2 Ordinary Women: 1 EXTRAORDINARY God ministry planning session the weekend of 1/11 in Atlanta, Kristi and Nena prayed for God to put people in our path that needed to hear the Gospel. It was important for us to not just spend wonderful time planning and praying but to be God's hands and feet to those that need Christ while we were together. On Saturday night we, unfortunately, got distracted while at dinner (so easy to do!) and missed an opportunity to share the Gospel with someone at Chipolte but, thankfully, God gave us another opportunity Sunday night. We had just stepped off a shuttle bus

that was dropping us off in a remote parking lot after an awesome worship service at Passion City Church with Louie Giglio and Chris Tomlin.

A young man named Phillip approached a group of us selling grooming kits and we politely declined.
He left and headed across the parking lot.

We told our friends goodbye and then suddenly realized that God had put Phillip in our path for a reason. We ran across the parking lot and were able to catch him.

We had a beautiful discussion with him about Christ. He was so excited to talk to us because he had just started exploring the Bible but didn't understand much of what he was reading. After we explained the Gospel we asked if we could pray with him and he very much wanted us too. We also gave him a www.Biblein11.com card and encouraged him to watch the YouTube video later to fully understand what we had discussed.

He said he looked forward to watching the video and even, excitedly, asked for a few more cards to share with friends. We also encouraged him to go to Passion Church to experience the awesome worship as well as to continue to learn more about his awesome Savior.

P.S. When we departed from Phillip we bought a grooming kit and will cherish it as a reminder of how awesome it was to share the Gospel together. Christ, You are 'grooming' us to do Your work and it is such a PRIVILEGE!

Lord, thank you for the courage & boldness to do what Christ instructed us to do. How are people going to learn about Christ if we don't share the Gospel with others? Thank you for making that question so real in our lives after we prayed for You to show us the world through Christ's eyes. There are so many 'Phillips' out there and continue to help us reach them. The key is to ask for You to put people in our paths because then we can be confident that You have prepared the hearts of those that we meet.

EXPECTATION! ANTICIPATION! REALIZATION!

God gives us a power we seldom employ
For we're so unaware it is filled with such joy,
For the gift that God gives us is anticipation,
Which we can fulfill with sincere expectation.

For there's power in belief when we think we will find
Joy for the heart and sweet peace for the mind.
And believing the day will bring a surprise
Is not only pleasant but surprisingly wise.

For we open the door to let joy walk through
When we learn to expect the best and the most
And believing we'll find a happy surprise
Makes reality out of a fancied surmise.

God says, "Go To The Hospitals"

We are asking God to show us the way to do His work and several months ago we heard Him say, "Go in the hospitals". Kristi, being a cardio nurse, is already in UAB hospital for her job so she began praying for God to reveal what He wanted her to do to serve Him there. God has been giving her opportunity after opportunity to witness to co-workers and patients. She has been able to pray with patients before their heart procedures, a time when they are often full of fear and extremely open to receiving what God wants to share.

Kristi also leaves www.Biblein11.com cards in the hospital chapel for people to take and watch the YouTube video that shares the full Gospel message. She has been amazed at how many cards have been taken.

After Kristi's hospital ministry was underway, Nena began hearing from God that she was supposed to go to the hospitals. Her friends, Susie Keefe and Julie Koenig, were thrilled to join her so we began going to the hospital chapels in Charleston to pray.

Each chapel has a Prayer Request book so we lift up prayers for all the requests that are written. We have also been blessed to pray with family members whose loved ones are in surgery or are barely hanging on to their earthly live. The Charleston hospital chapels are also home to www.Biblein11.com cards now as well. In addition, we also bring magazines with www.Biblein11.com cards placed inside and leave them in waiting rooms. We continue to hear God saying that He sent us to the hospitals because so many people are in valleys there. God can reach people when they are in valleys because they are grasping for help and God is always right there.

Kristi and Nena had the pleasure of being in Atlanta together the weekend of January 11th so we couldn't wait to go to the hospital together and we chose Egleston Children's Hospital. The prayer requests in the chapel book there were heartbreaking and we found ourselves full of sorrow for what each family was facing with their young children. A couple of the prayer requests were shocking because they were not cries for physical healing but, instead, were desperate pleas to tell God how unworthy they were to even be alive. Two in particular broke our hearts - the prayers of Destiny and Jesse. Their prayers were similar and incredibly sad because they were told by their family that they were completely worthless and unloved. Kristi and Nena poured out our hearts in prayers for these two children of God and asked God to reveal His love for them in an extraordinary way.

We also left www.Biblein11.com cards in the Egleston chapel and other places around the hospital and felt truly blessed to be together because when we are often carrying out this mission in our respective cities many miles apart.

God, we know that you have special plans for those that will receive the www.Biblein11.com cards we leave in all the hospitals because you are preparing the hearts and minds of those people that will pick up them up. We ask for special healing for the patients and especially for Destiny & Jesse!
