You’ll see your children grow up,
your family lovely and graceful as orchard grass. You’ll arrive at your grave ripe with many good years, like sheaves of golden grain at harvest.
“Yes, this is the way things are—my word of honor!
Take it to heart and you won’t go wrong.” Job 5:24-27

Many of you know that these are the words I read two years ago, the morning that Jeff was diagnosed with Sarcoma, cancer of the soft tissue. We are still standing on that promise, and others, that the Lord has shown us in His word. We are standing despite the recent news that the cancer has spread to a lung. We are "taking it to heart" that "this is the way things are", so that "we won't go wrong."
Just this morning we read in Habakkuk 2:
“Write this.Write what you see.
Write it out in big block lettersso that it can be read on the run.
This vision-message is a witness
pointing to what’s coming.
It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait!
And it doesn’t lie.
If it seems slow in coming, wait.
It’s on its way. It will come right on time.
So, I am writing... as we wait for the vision of Jeff being healed to
come to pass. I confess, sometimes it seems heart-breakingly slow, but in our spirit we know that it is "right on time" and we will wait in expectation.

We have been SOOO BLESSED over the last 2 1/2 weeks. In the coming days, it is my desire to tell you of some of the ways. We also wish to use this site in lieu of a Caring Bridge, as it sometimes gets to be overwhelming keeping all of those that love us and are praying for us "in the loop".
Today seems as good a place as any to start. We met with the oncologist this morning and were told that he recommends Jeff doing 3 days of chemo every 3 weeks for 9 weeks at which time they would do another CT scan to see if the disease had responded to chemo. At that time a decision would be made as to whether or not to surgically remove the remaining tumor or continue with another 9 week program. We are considering this option, but are looking into going to a place in Colorado Springs, called Health Quarters before beginning this regimen.
Several weeks ago now, before Jeff was diagnosed, we were told of Health Quarters by a friend of ours, Tommy. He was talking about how his sister was healed of breast cancer through nutrition alone. When we did receive the diagnosis, the Holy Spirit kept "pricking" my spirit about this story, so Saturday, we spoke with Tommy's sister, Sherry, and received great encouragement about giving this a try, not necessarily in lieu of chemo or surgery, but perhaps in addition to.
We have placed an application, but have not heard back. As we understand it, the doctor there might think it's better to visit there after the chemo, so we will wait to hear. If we do go, we will leave this Sunday and return next Saturday or Sunday. We will let everyone know what we find out. Please pray for wisdom and discernment for us and the doctors.
Some days are better than others, but we are choosing faith over fear!
God is FAITHFUL and TRUE. After we told Brianna that the spot on Jeff's lung was cancer, she made the statement that it seemed to her that we had a choice. We could listen to the devil and be miserable, or listen to the promises of God and continue to be joyful. From the mouth of babes!!!
Thank you all for supporting us in so many ways. Please continue to keep us in your prayers.
