Our Visit with Dr. Robert Cerfolio

We were very nervous Tuesday as we sat there in the Kirklin Clinic waiting on the arrival of Dr. Cerfolio, one of the best thoracic surgeons in the world. We were hoping and praying that he would agree to do surgery, while deeply concerned that he might not. There was a lot riding on the line. We prayed that the Lord would work through Dr.Cerfolio to reveal His will.

He walked in and immediately we were put at ease by his friendly manner. Thankfullly we didn't have to listen to him talk for very long before we understood that our prayers had been answered. Not only did he agree that doing surgery was reasonable, he understood our reluctance to have chemotherapy. He went on to say that he believes in prayer and has more respect for holistic medicine than a lot of his colleagues. To say that we were relieved is an understatement.  We praised the Lord for guiding us to Dr. Cerfolio!

Jeff is scheduled for surgery on Wednesday of next week, May 29th. He will have this done at UAB and will remain in the hospital 2-3 days. Please pray  that they will be able to do the surgery robotically, as this will reduce his pain and recovery time.

We covet your prayers and appreciate all your acts of kindness and well wishes!  We have experienced the love of Jesus through his people and we are deeply touched.

  1. God has His hands on it all, but it sure is refreshing when He decides to outwardly reveal himself to us and provide such peace, even if momentary. our prayers will be with all of you next week, and beyond. Call on us if we can help!!

  2. I'm going to offer some other words that are according to my spiritual beliefs...I accept that a healing is here, right now for Jeff...I am celebrating success for Jeff and his family...I am celebrating many happy years left to know Jeff and his wonderful wife, Kristi...I am celebrating unfinished business for Jeff and his wife...I am celebrating the service they have yet to render to other people...in my mind...prayers for Jeff have already been heard...it is time to relax and remember...that as your Bible speaks to a time to plant..a time to reap...a time to sew...this is a time for good luck and good fortune for Jeff and his wife...for many years...prayer seeks what isn't here...or what hasn't arrived...or for what may be uncertain...but now, certainty and longevity are the keywords of the day...and for many years to come...you both have lots of work to do...and many folks to help...so, with that in mind...healing is the only acceptable result...so, I'm celebrating...celebrating good times...long lives...service to others...nothing for me to pray for...I've just accepted that good luck and good fortune are the orders of the day.
